About KGMU OPD Guide
KGMU OPD Guide is an independent patient-navigation resource created to make public information about King George’s Medical University, Lucknow easier to find and use. KGMU information is distributed across department pages, schedules, directories, campus maps, contact pages and government services; this site organizes those pieces around the patient’s next task.
What this site helps with
- Online appointment preparation and official-service handoff.
- New and returning patient registration guidance.
- Department, unit, doctor and specialty-clinic schedules where KGMU publishes them.
- OPD buildings, floors, rooms and facility-specific locations.
- Lab/report routes and investigation counters.
- Trauma Centre and facility-specific patient contacts.
- Major facility guides for Queen Mary, Lari Cardiology and Dental services.
Why the site exists
A large hospital campus creates navigation problems that a simple department list does not solve. A department office can be in one building while routine OPD is elsewhere; a returning patient can have a follow-up day different from the unit’s main OPD; a specialty clinic can run only on one Wednesday of the month. KGMU OPD Guide is built to expose those distinctions clearly.
How information is researched
Operational claims are prioritized from KGMU’s official website, official department pages, KGMU campus/directory/contact pages and official government patient services. Third-party sites may reveal questions patients are asking, but they are not used as the primary source for doctors, schedules, fees, rooms or official workflows.
Structured data, not copied facts everywhere
Schedules, clinics, doctors, locations, contacts and sources are stored in a structured data layer that powers multiple tools. This reduces the risk of one page saying Room 420 while another says Room 421 after a hospital update.
Patient navigation, not medical diagnosis
The site answers questions such as where a known department is located, which days a unit is regularly scheduled, or where a report counter is published. It does not determine a diagnosis, prescribe treatment, choose a doctor as “best,” or decide which specialty a person medically needs from symptoms.
Independent from KGMU
KGMU OPD Guide is not owned, operated, sponsored or endorsed by King George’s Medical University or ORS. It does not issue appointments, collect KGMU fees, create hospital records, access medical records or represent KGMU staff. Official actions are completed on hospital/government-controlled services.
Keeping information current
High-change operational information carries a source and review date. The site also includes an administrative freshness/readiness check so schedules, contacts and URLs can be flagged for re-review rather than being assumed current forever.
Corrections
If you find an outdated room, schedule, doctor assignment, contact number or official link, use the Contact page and include the page URL, the detail that appears incorrect and an official source where possible. Material navigation errors receive higher priority than cosmetic changes.

What makes the guide different from a hospital directory
A directory can tell you that a department exists. A patient-navigation product needs to answer what happens next: whether the patient is new or returning, which published schedule pattern applies, where the outpatient clinic actually sits, whether a specialty clinic has a different day, and which official service handles the next action. The tools and articles are designed around that sequence.
How the structured KGMU data layer works
The site stores departments, aliases, doctors, clinics, schedules, facilities, patient locations, contacts, investigations and source records separately from editorial copy. A change to one verified schedule record can therefore update the Schedule Finder and department summary without rewriting a paragraph on several pages. This is also why the guide can distinguish OPD location from department/ward or procedure location.
What the site does not do
- It does not impersonate KGMU or use KGMU affiliation as a marketing claim.
- It does not create or sell hospital appointments.
- It does not collect hospital consultation fees.
- It does not access or store KGMU medical records.
- It does not recommend a “best” doctor.
- It does not diagnose symptoms or prescribe treatment.
Advertising and independence
If advertising is enabled, it must remain visually separate from official-service buttons and important navigation such as emergency numbers, appointment handoffs and Route Finder results. Advertising does not determine which department, doctor or hospital service is presented.
