KGMU Lab Report 2026: Online Reports, Pathology & Lab Counters
KGMU lab reports, sample collection and investigation counters do not all follow one route. The correct path depends on the test, the department that requested it and the facility where the sample was collected. Start with the test or laboratory name, then use the sections below to check whether the report can be accessed online or needs to be collected from a KGMU counter.
How to check a KGMU lab report online
ORS includes a Lab Reports service for participating government hospitals. For a KGMU report, keep the patient details used during the hospital visit—such as UHID, registered mobile number or other identifiers requested by the portal—ready before you begin.
Step 1: Keep the patient details ready
Use the same patient identity connected with the KGMU visit. If you have a UHID, OPD slip or investigation receipt, keep it nearby because the report service may ask for patient or hospital identifiers.
Step 2: Open the ORS Patient Portal
Open ORS and choose the Lab Report service shown on the patient portal. Then enter the requested patient details and hospital information to look for the available report.
Step 3: If the report is not available online
- Confirm that the test/report is eligible for online release.
- Check the patient/UHID or mobile details used for the hospital visit.
- Allow for the laboratory’s reporting time; sample collection and report generation are separate stages.
- Use the relevant physical report counter or department instruction when the report is not available online.
Find the KGMU lab or investigation route
If you already know the test or laboratory name, use the Investigation Finder to locate the verified KGMU route stored in this guide. It is most useful for known services such as Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, FNAC, Vitamin D, LFT/KFT and Respiratory Medicine tests.
Find a KGMU lab or investigation route
Search a known test, laboratory or report service. Results organize published locations; they do not recommend tests or interpret results.
KGMU Pathology report and counters
The New OPD directory lists Pathology laboratory, cash and report counters on the first floor, including Pathology Lab rooms 113 and 120 and FNAC Room 114. These are useful for routine New OPD Pathology workflows, but other facilities can have their own laboratory route.
KGMU Microbiology report counter
New OPD has separate Microbiology report and cash counters on the first floor. A Microbiology report should therefore not be assumed to come from the same counter as every Pathology or Biochemistry test.
KGMU Biochemistry sample collection
Biochemistry outpatient sample collection is at Room 1, Ground Floor, Old OPD on working days, with a collection window of 8 AM–3 PM. Common investigations handled by Biochemistry include LFT, KFT, lipid profile, glucose, electrolytes, HbA1c, thyroid tests, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D and other biochemical/hormonal tests.
Queen Mary sample collection
Queen Mary Hospital has its own sample-collection route. The Obstetrics & Gynaecology information lists a 24-hour sample collection centre in Room 12 of Queen Mary OPD. A Queen Mary patient therefore should not automatically be sent to New OPD for every sample.
Trauma Centre laboratory route
The Trauma Centre directory lists a Pathology Collection Counter and Pathology ABG Lab on the ground floor. Emergency investigations follow the Trauma Centre workflow rather than the routine OPD laboratory route.
Department-specific investigations
Some departments maintain specialist diagnostic services. Respiratory Medicine, for example, provides spirometry, advanced pulmonary-function testing, allergy testing, PPD and interventional pulmonary facilities. These services should be used when advised as part of clinical care, not simply because they appear in an online directory.
What to keep when collecting or checking a report
- UHID / patient number.
- Investigation receipt or sample acknowledgement where issued.
- Registered mobile number.
- Department/clinic that ordered the test.
- Previous prescription or follow-up instruction.
